Larnaca: A lovely Christmas Market this Friday and Saturday not to be missed!

A Christmas Market will take place this Friday and Saturday 3/4th December 2021 from 5 to 10pm.
Larnaca Dekelia Road (into the small forest next to coffee island).

Sarah Cambell who organizes the Christmas Market in District of Larnaca (Dekelia Road) since 2012 said to SkalaTimes :

“The Traditional Christmas Market on Dhekelia Road in Larnaca is finally back in the forest this year after it not being able to go ahead in 2020 due to the pandemic.
The market started a lot smaller back in 2012 when I realised there were no good Christmas Markets in Cyprus to really get you into the spirit of Christmas.
Having grown up in Manchester that hosted fantastic markets throughout December, it was one of the only things I missed.
I owned a craft shop in Orokkini at the time, so I brought together some of my customers to sell their crafts… but once I advertised what I was doing the local community all wanted to be involved both selling and wanting to visit.
Each year I had to find more space for stalls and every year Ive been fully booked.
The amount of customers we had that first year was amazing, we couldn’t move there were so many people there…so we needed to grow.
In 2017 we moved into the forest when we outgrew the old streets of Oroklini, and other than last year when it was cancelled last minute because of COVID restrictions it had welcomed 1000’s of visitors over the 2 night market.
This year we have not grown, we have kept a limit on the stalls (due to covid) and stayed with 150 stalls.
The area is all lit up with beautiful lights winding round the forest pathways.
All the favorites stalls will be there that our customers love, but were also welcoming some great new stalls from across the island… Soli Gin will have some great festive hampers available, Hans & Gretel will be serving their famous bubble waffles and sweets, and Coffee Island are also joining us with delicious Hot Chocolate…. And lot more.
The popular Mulled wine (glüwein) stall will be there to warm you up, and also offering an alcohol free spiced apple cider too.
There’s a wide range of hot food stalls serving German bratwursts, turkey rolls, soups, burgers, mexican, asian and indian food… and vegan and vegetarian option too!
There’s a large range of sweet treats for all…cookie & cakes, mince pies and gingerbread… all the baked goods you can imagine.
The large range of the gifts available will guarantee you’ll find something for all the family, and Christmas decorations for every home.
Santa and his helpers unfortunately had to be cancelled this week due to new restrictions, but we have got our special permit from the MOH and all stall holders cannot wait to welcome the visitors again!
It promises to be a great family evening full of Christmas Spirit, and background festive music”.

* All new government rules regarding covid will be in place, so safe passes and mask will be needed by everyone over 6yrs, to keep everyone safe.
Entrance is €1.50 for adults and accompanied children are free.
