“Παπούτσι Εις τον Τόπο Σου 2.0”: Διαπολιτισμικές Περιηγήσεις τον Πυρήνα της Λάρνακας 3 Ιουνίου 2023
Στις 12 Νοεμβρίου 2022, περισσότερα από 150 άτομα περιηγήθηκαν στην πόλη της Λάρνακας και είχαν την ευκαιρία να γνωρίσουν μια διαφορετική οπτική γωνία του ιστορικού της κέντρου. Οι περιηγήσεις στην πόλη τόνισαν τη συμβολή των μεταναστών στην ιστορία και την αστική ανάπτυξη της Λάρνακας από τον 18ο αιώνα και μετά.
Ως συνέχεια της πρώτης εμπειρίας που είχαμε μαζί, ο ΜΚΟ C.I.P. Citizens in Power σε συνεργασία με το ίδρυμα Φοίβου Σταυρίδη, το Ίδρυμα Πολιτιστικής Δημιουργίας για Παιδιά και Νέους, το Discover Larnaka και το Larnaka 2030, σας προσκαλούν το Σάββατο, 3 Ιουνίου 2023, σε μια νέα σειρά περιηγήσεων στη πόλη της Λάρνακας για να συνεχίσουμε την εξιστόρηση του παρελθόντος της πόλης μας μέσα από τις διαπολιτισμικές συνυπάρξεις στο άλλοτε εμπορικό κέντρο της Σκάλας, για να δούμε πως επιβίωσαν και άνθισαν οι άνθρωποι μέσα από την διαφορετικότητά τους.
Ο πρώτος περίπατος θα ξεκινήσει στις 10:30 π.μ. και θα είναι στα Ελληνικά, και ο δεύτερος στις 18:30 μ.μ., στα Αγγλικά. Οι περίπατοι θα ξεκινήσουν από την Πλατεία Ζουχουρί, θα διασχίσουν την εκκλησία του Αγίου Λάζαρου, την Οδό Αφροδίτης, τον Τουρκομαχαλλά, το Μεγάλο Τζιαμί, το Κάστρο της Λάρνακας και θα καταλήξουν στο σημείο εκκίνησης, την Πλατεία Ζουχουρί, και πρόκειται να διαρκέσουν 1 με 1,5 ώρες. Τον περίπατο θα συντονίζει ο Δρ Ιωσήφ Χατζηκυριάκος.

Η Λάρνακα διαχρονικά αποτελούσε ένα διαπολιτισμικό κόμβο μεταξύ Δύσης και Ανατολής. Η ύπαρξη του λιμανιού, οι Αλυκές, και οι εμπορικοί δρόμοι της Ανατολικής Μεσογείου, καθορίσαν την ιστορική εξέλιξη της πόλης του Ζήνωνα. Γλώσσες, θρησκείες, τρόποι ζωής πλέκονταν και δημιουργούσαν ένα κοινωνικό ιστό που χαρακτήριζε και διαφοροποιούσε τη Λάρνακα από πάντα.
Για την Λάρνακα, δεν υπάρχουν ξένοι, υπάρχουν πολίτες. Οι περίπατοι στοχεύουν ακριβώς στην ιστορική συνείδηση αυτής της πάγιας θέσης της Λαρνακιώτικης κοινωνίας μεταφέρωντας ένα μήνυμα ισότητας και διαπολιτισμικότητας. Η δράση αυτή υλοποιείται στα πλαίσια των Ευρωπαϊκών έργων “DREAMM” και “EFIVOS” και διοργανώνεται υπό την αιγίδα του Δήμου Λάρνακας.

“Walk a Mile in My Shoes 2.0”: Intercultural City Tours in Larnaca 3rd of June 2023
On 12 November 2022, more than 150 people toured the city of Larnaca and had the opportunity to experience a different perspective of its historic centre. The city tours highlighted the contribution of immigrants to the history and urban development of Larnaca since the 18th century.
As a continuation of the first experience we had together, the NGO C.I.P. Citizens in Power in collaboration with the Phivos Stavridis Foundation-Larnaca Archives, the Foundation for Cultural Creation for Children and Youth, Discover Larnaka and Larnaka 2030, invite you on Saturday, June 3, 2023, to a new series of tours in the city of Larnaka to continue the narrative of our city’s past through the intercultural coexistences in the former commercial centre of Skala, to see how people survived and flourished through their diversity.
The first walk will start at 10:30 am and will be in Greek, and the second at 18:30 pm, in English. The walks will start from Zouhouri Square, cross the church of Agios Lazarus, Aphrodite Street, Turkomahalla, Megalo Tziami, Larnaca Castle and end at the starting point, Zouchouri Square, and will last between 1 and 1.5 hours. The walk will be facilitated by Dr. Iosif Hadjikyriakos.

Larnaca has long been a cross-cultural hub between West and East. The existence of the port, the salt marshes, and the trade routes of the Eastern Mediterranean have determined the historical development of the city of Zenon. Languages, religions, and ways of life were interwoven and created a social fabric that characterized and differentiated Larnaca from time immemorial.
For Larnaca, there are no foreigners, there are citizens. The walks aim precisely at the historical consciousness of this fixed position of Larnaca society, conveying a message of equality and interculturality. This action is implemented in the framework of the European projects “DREAMM” and “EFIVOS” and is organized under the auspices of the Municipality of Larnaca.
