H Ινδία είναι μια χώρα συγχώνευσης πολλών θρησκειών. Περίπου 33 εκατομμύρια θεοί λατρεύονται σε διαφορετικές πολιτείες και περιοχές σε διαφορετικές χρονικές στιγμές του έτους. «Έχουμε θεό για κάθε εμπόδιο… Κάθε συναίσθημα και κάθε στιγμή».
Η Sanskriti Κύπρος, Μη Κερδοσκοπικός Οργανισμός, εγγεγραμμένος στον Έφορο Εταιρειών στην Κύπρο (No.H410292) με την υποστήριξη της Ύπατης Αρμοστείας της Ινδίας στην Κύπρο πρόκειται να γιορτάσει το φεστιβάλ του Ganesh Chaturthi στην Κύπρο.
Ο Ganesh Chaturthi είναι ένα από τα πιο σημαντικά φεστιβάλ που γιορτάζονται σε όλη την Ινδία με μεγάλη αφοσίωση. Αυτή η ημέρα γιορτάζεται ως τα γενέθλια του Λόρδου Ganesh δηλαδή του θεού Ελέφαντα. Ο Λόρδος Ganesh είναι ο Θεός για την απομάκρυνση των εμποδίων (vighnaharta), ο προστάτης των τεχνών και των επιστημών και ο άρχοντας της σοφίας, της ευημερίας και της καλής τύχης.
Αυτό το φεστιβάλ θα είναι επίσης μια ευκαιρία να εκφράσουμε την ευγνωμοσύνη μας στους ανθρώπους που βοήθησαν στην άρση των εμποδίων που αντιμετωπίσαμε κατά τη διάρκεια της πανδημίας COVID-19. Αυτή η πλατφόρμα θα είναι υπέροχη για να τιμήσει το Αστυνομικό μας προσωπικό, τους Γιατρούς, τις Νοσοκόμες, τους εργαζομένους του Δήμου και τους πολλούς εργαζόμενους πρώτης γραμμής στην Κύπρο που έθεσαν σε κίνδυνο τη ζωή τους για να σώσουν τη δική μας.
Ο Θεός Ganesha με κεφάλι ελέφαντα είναι γνωστός σε όλη την Ινδία ως ο Άρχοντας των Αρχών και ο Θεος για αφαίρεση των εμποδίων. Γι ‘αυτόν τον λόγο λατρεύεται πριν ξεκινήσει κάθε νέα επιχείρηση, όταν είναι απαραίτητη η ευλογία του.
Φέτος η έναρξη της χρονιάς ήταν μια δύσκολη φάση για όλους μας. Περίπου 844 χιλιάδες άνθρωποι έχασαν τη ζωή τους και έως και 25 εκατομμύρια άνθρωποι έχουν πληγεί μέχρι τώρα από τον θανατηφόρο ιό. Όταν όλους μας η Ζωή ήταν ακίνητη, υπήρχαν τμήματα της κοινωνίας που εργάζονταν αδιάκοπα με αφοσίωση. Καθώς προχωρούσαμε στην ομαλότητα, υπήρχαν άνθρωποι της πρώτης γραμμής που μας προστατεύαν από αυτήν την πανδημία όλη αυτή την ώρα και επιτρέποντας μας να επιστρέψουμε τη ζωή μας στη λογική. Οι θυσίες τους και η ανδρεία τους πρέπει να τιμηθούν καθώς οι Ινδοί λατρεύουν τον άρχοντα Γκανέσα …. Ο Ελέφαντας Θεός που είναι η απομάκρυνση των εμποδίων και μας σώζει από τα χειρότερα … Η Sanskriticyprus πρωτοστάτησε να τιμήσει αυτούς τους γενναίους ανθρώπους στο φεστιβάλ Ganeshotsav 2020 για να γιορτάσει τη ζωή ξανά.
Η εκδήλωση πραγματοποιείται στο Αμφιθέατρο Σκάλι, Αγλαντζιά, Λευκωσία στις 5 Σεπτεμβρίου 2020, Σάββατο στις 17.00 μ.μ.. Η εκδήλωση θα γιορταστεί με την παρουσία της αξιότιμης Ύπατης Αρμοστείας της Ινδίας στην Κύπρο κα Madhumita Hazarika Bhagat, του αξιότιμου Δημάρχου Λευκωσίας, του Αρχηγού της Αστυνομίας, του Αρχηγού Ιατρικού Συλλόγου Κύπρου κ.α.
Η βραδιά θα περιλαμβάνει διάφορες πολιτιστικές παρουσιάσεις με τη μορφή χορών και θεάτρου από την Ινδική Διασπορά, τελετή αποχαιρετισμού για τους πολεμιστές του Covid. Η είσοδος είναι ελεύθερη αφού γίνει εγράφη διδακτικά. Επίσης θα πωλούνται δελτια κλήρωσης Raffle για το κοινό. Υπήρξαν κάποιες τοπικές εταιρείες που έχουν συνεργαστεί μαζί μας για αυτόν τον ευγενή σκοπό παρέχοντας τα βραβεία λοταρίας. Τοπικές επιχειρήσεις όπως Vama, Finezza Athletics, Oriflame by Elena GKous, Essens Beauty and Health, Ανατολικά καλλυντικά, Βοτανικό Πάρκο Cyherbia, Oinou Strata Luxury Suites & Winery, Activity GoGo, The Brown Box και Groovy το κατάστημα.

Sanskriti Cyprus Celebrates Ganeshotsav to Honour Covid Warriors

India is a land of amalgamation of many religions. Around 33 million gods are worshipped in different states and regions at different time of the year. We have god for every hurdle… every feeling and every moment. Sanskriti Cyprus, Non-Profit Organization, registered with the Registrar of Companies in Cyprus (No.H410292) with support from the Indian High Commission in Cyprus is going to celebrate the festival of Ganesh Chaturthi in Cyprus. Ganesh Chaturthi is one of the important festivals celebrated throughout India with great devotion. This day is celebrated as the birthday of Lord Ganesh, the elephant-headed god. Lord Ganesh is revered as the remover of obstacles (vighnaharta), the patron of arts and sciences and the lord of wisdom, prosperity, and good fortune.
It shall also be an opportunity to express our gratitude to those earthly Vighnahartas who have helped remove the obstacles we faced during the COVID-19 pandemic. This platform shall be felicitous to honour our police personnel, doctors, nurses, municipality workers and the many front-line workers in Cyprus who risked their lives to save ours.
As Indians, we are often asked how we worship an elephant-headed, pot-bellied, broken-tusked god who travels on a mouse. But as strange as it seems, every little peculiarity of Lord Ganesha’s has a deep spiritual significance. Desiring to take a bath, Mother Parvati, Lord Shiva’s consort, created a boy from dirt to guard her home when she was bathing. As it happened, Lord Shiva returned while Mother Parvati was away. Surprised to see a stranger outside the home, the Lord demanded that he be allowed to enter his home. Much to his dismay, the boy refused to allow him in. Infuriated at being barred from entering his home, the Lord cut off the boy’s head. On returning, Mother Parvati was inconsolable when she found out what the Lord had done. To alleviate her suffering, Lord Shiva commanded his troops to get the head of the first living being they came across. The first living being they chanced upon happened to be an elephant calf. Finally, Lord Shiva, on receiving the head of the calf, placed it on the boy’s body and restored life to him. Thus Lord Ganesha was created.
Lord Shiva represents the divine Self. Lord Ganesha, being His son, is symbolic of a person who has attained that state of Divinity. While representing the Divinity, Lord Ganesha also represents the way to attain that exalted state.
The elephant-headed Ganesha is renowned throughout India as the Lord of Beginnings, and both the placer and the remover of obstacles. It is for this reason that he is worshipped before any new venture is begun, when his benediction is essential. Temporary statues are created every year for the Ganeshchaturthi festival in and are placed in public or domestic shrines before being immersed in water at the end of the celebrations. Ganesh Chaturthi, is observed during the month of ‘Bhadra’ (mid August or September) and this year it starts from August 22 to September 1. Before the arrival of the festive date, a clay model of Ganesha is carved and then painted (the idol is available in various sizes). Then the decorated deity is raised on a platform and worshiped for 10 days. On the 11th day, a procession begins with people dancing and chanting prayers around the idol of the deity, which is taken to a nearby lake and immersed in it. The immersion marks the end of the festival as it is believed that with this immersion Ganesha is now believed to have merged with his deity parents Parvati and Shiva.
This year since its commencement has been a difficult phase for all of us. Approximately 844 thousand people have perished and as much as 25 million people affected till now from the deadly virus. When all the life was standstill still there were sections of society relentlessly working with dedication. As we were moving to normalcy there have been people who have been safeguarding us from this pandemic all this time. All these frontline workers have emerged as our Vighnahartas (The remover of Obstacles) and returning our lives to sanity. Their sacrifices and their valor need to be honoured as we Indians worship lord Ganesha…. the elephant God who is the remover of obstacles and saving us from all worse…Sanskriticyprus has pioneered to felicitate these brave humans at Ganeshotsav 2020 to celebrate life again.
The event is being held at Skali Amphitheatre, Aglantzia, Nicosia on 5th September 2020, Saturday at 7pm.The event shall be graced with the presence of the honourable High Commissioner of India in Cyprus Mrs. Madhumita Hazarika Bhagat, The Honourable Mayor of Nicosia, The Police Chief, Head of Cyprus Medical Association and many more.
The evening shall include various cultural presentations in form of dances and theatre by the Indian Diaspora, felicitation ceremony for the Covid warriors and an attraction of Raffle draw for the public. There have been some local companies who have joined hands with us for this noble cause providing the raffle prizes. Local businesses like Vama, Finezza Athletics, Oriflame by Elena GKous, Essens Beauty and Health, Eastern cosmetics, Cyherbia Botanical Park, Activity GoGo, The Brown Box and Groovy the store.
- The event shall be managed following all necessary guidelines by the Cyprus Government.
